Symptoms include: fever, headache, chills, muscle aches, nausea, cough, and confusion. Anaplasmosis can be fatal if not treated. a Babesiosis: Babasiosis is a tick borne disease transmitted mostly by the nymph stage of the deer tick. Symptoms include: fever, headache, chills, muscle aches, nausea, sweats, body ache, and fatigue. Babesiosis can be life-threatening in people with certain medical conditions and the elderly. a Powassan: Powassan is a tick borne disease that is fatal in 10-15% of those affected. Powassan is transmitted by the deer tick. This disease can cause meningitis and encephalitis. Symptoms include fever, headache, vomiting, weakness, confusion, loss of coordination, speech difficulties, and seizures. Approximately half of all survivors have permanent neurological problems. a Tolaremia: Tolaremia is a tick borne disease transmitted by the dog tick and the wood tick. Symptoms include fever, and skin ulcers at the site of the bite. The illness ranges from mild to life-threatening. Actions to reduce tick populations consist of removing tick habitat such as tall grass and brush around homes and lawn edges as well as treatments to property boarders. Treatments in May through early June target the nymph stage of the tick and treatments in October target the adult stage.

Mulching is a simple yet effective means of helping maintain tree health. Mulching mimics the ground conditions found in the natural forest environment. A three inch layer of mulch is recommended over as much of the root base as possible.

We offer stump grinding services for tree and shrub stumps. Stumps are ground to a depth of 4”-8” below grade, sometimes deeper, so lawn and planting areas may be reclaimed.
